During the past week I and others who had made comments on proposed introduction of a 7.5 t weight restriction on our high street received the email quoted below.
It is interesting to those of us that having understood the difference between a “weight restriction” and a “weight limit” that this decision refers to the latter. Thank you to all those who commented on the original proposal.
“THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (B3086, HIGH STREET, LONDON ROAD AND THE PACKWAY, SHREWTON) (WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 2015
Further to previous correspondence I am able to inform you that a report on the above proposal has now been considered by the Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport who has approved that: –
(i) An application be made to the Department for Transport to erect the non-prescribed signs necessary for the introduction of a 3.5t weight limit for environmental reasons on the B3086, High Street, London Road and The Packway, Shrewton;
(ii) Objectors be informed accordingly.
