Public consultation on the cost of policing in 2016-2017
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon, Angus Macpherson, has has begun a consultation on a proposal to increase by 1.9 per cent the police part of the council tax for 2016-17.
That would mean an extra £3.12 a year (or 6p a week) for the average band D property. At present, band D homes pay £163.98 a year.
Out of the 43 forces in England and Wales, only two receive less funding per head of population than Wiltshire.

Would you like to be an energy advice volunteer? There is a project in Wiltshire called Warm and Safe Wiltshire. It is partnership between Wiltshire Council and Bristol Charity: The Centre for Sustainable Energy.
It is a health related project providing a service for people affected by cold living conditions and suffering from health conditions, helping them to save money on their energy bills and keep warm in their homes.
Volunteers are needed to help deliver the project.
