Dementia Friends – Can you help?
From Wiltshire Council’s Public Health Briefing Note for May.
‘Wiltshire Council’s Dementia Delivery Board brings together expertise from the council, Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group, Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Support and partner organisations.
‘The Wiltshire Dementia Aware project team has so far created over 1,950 Dementia Friends in Wiltshire. However with the help of our partners, through the efforts of local people and our Area Boards, our colleagues at Alzheimer’s Society believe over 15,000 people in Wiltshire are now Dementia Friends. Becoming a Dementia Friend means learning more about dementia and the small ways you can help.
‘The high numbers of people who have become Dementia Friends will make our communities safer places for people suffering from dementia to live healthy, high quality lives. To find out more visit www.dementiafriends.org.uk/
