Family Computer Club

clubpostermarchA family computer club is aimed at all ages (well, 10 years and above) as well as all abilities and will be covering a wide range of topics and activities. The next session is next Saturday 11th May [correction] March and is a workshop on building apps for Android devices the fun and easy way.

Wiltshire Police’s new Independent Advisory Group

wiltshirepolice“Wiltshire Police is looking to identify members of our community from throughout East and South Wiltshire to participate in independent advisory groups (IAGs).  Their aim is to allow the community to express views and advice in relations to policies, actions or changes and to build on this information to help our hub commanders set the framework of future policies to meet the needs of all within our communities.

We are looking for people to apply or help in nominating initial contacts or persons to apply.

It could be that they are the head of the Mosque or perhaps from Age Concern and although they may not be interested they might know someone in their group who is. Criteria is as follows;

  • They must either reside/work or have a significant interest in the East and South Wiltshire areas;
  • Meetings will be quarterly, likely in a police premises;
  • Will need to apply and be vetted.

Below is a list of the diverse community members we are looking for and this as follows but we are welcome to all other options, the list is by no means exhaustive;

  • Military community
  • Rural community
  • Age – elderly and young
  • Cadets – perhaps could represent the young?
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Transgender
  • Any of our Minority ethnic Groups
  • Disabled groups
  • Faith groups
  • Business community
