In the next couple of days Arrowhead will be coming through people’s doors, including letters from the Chairs of our two Parish Councils.
In these letters is the suggestion that knocking on the door of a neighbour you may not have seen for a while would be a comfort to them so that they know that help is available if needed.
It is worth being aware that those at the biggest risk (especially those who have had the 12 week isolation letters) should be avoiding all face to face contact, even 2m is too close. The best way to stay in touch with someone highly vulnerable (and indeed everyone else) is phone or online if possible – see
That said, there may be cases where people feel it is important to knock. Effective social distancing is key in these situations.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT IF YOU DO KNOCK YOU OBSERVE THE APPROPRIATE COVID 19 SAFETY MEASURES:
- STEP BACK A MINIMUM OF 2 METRES (2 BIG PACES!)
- REMAIN AT (AT LEAST) THAT DISTANCE WHILE YOU TALK
The letters in Arrowhead were written and sent for printing before the possibility of a lockdown was even mentioned. As we have seen things are changing on a daily basis but as there is useful information included with the letter it was felt better to send it out rather than risk somebody not having access to information and assistance.
