Right, folks. A public service announcement for anyone who’s already forgotten what day it is.
THE CLOCKS GO BACK TONIGHT!
At 2am on Sunday, the clocks go back to 1am. That’s right, an extra hour in bed!
Sixty glorious minutes to sleep in, only to wake up at the same time anyway because your internal clock is more stubborn than a Shrewton resident arguing about roadworks, and apparently the only thing that can reset it is a factory reset and a written apology. 😂
A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:
📱 Phones usually change automatically. Unlike some people, they can manage basic timekeeping.
🕰️ Ovens, microwaves and car clocks may need changing manually. A task that will take three minutes but somehow remain unfinished until February.
🐕 Dogs will still demand breakfast at the usual time. Try explaining daylight saving to a Labrador. You’ll get the same blank expression as when you explain your pension to a teenager.
🐈 Cats won’t notice. They already think you’re available 24 hours a day.
And remember, the clocks going back means winter is officially on its way.
The heating goes on, the duvet gets thicker, and popping outside to put the bins out suddenly requires the sort of clothing normally worn on an Arctic expedition.
Enjoy your extra hour, Shrewton!
Sleep in, take it easy and resist the urge to do anything useful.
And whatever you get up to in that extra hour, remember my golden rule: don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.
Mind you, that’s a loophole big enough to drive a tractor through. I’ve got a terrible memory, a questionable sense of judgement and absolutely no witnesses. You’re all on your own… 🤣
