Did you know that The Candlemas Charity is a village charity that has helped many local residents over the years, and is still very much active to this day?
It exists to help anyone in the Shrewton and surrounding Parishes who are in need, hardship or distress. With the current cost of living crisis being felt by many, it’s more than ever relevant today.
People often struggle financially from time to time, and this can lead to worry and anxiety. We can give a helping hand to people who need it most.
Examples of where we have helped in the past include offering grants to top up heating oil, purchasing children’s school uniform, paying for bus fares to get to and from work, liaising with bailiffs or landlords on behalf of people who are facing eviction or repossession of items to settle a debt.
