Annual Clean-up Day this Saturday 21 October

Shrewton Women’s Institute will be holding its Annual Village Clean Up Day on Saturday 21st October 10:00 – 12:00 (see attached poster).

This is the second clear-up day of the year and we are hoping for even greater numbers of volunteers to help with clearing weeds and litter from our lovely village.

We plan on being busy for two hours in all but if you and others can give just a few minutes of your time to help then we’ll be really grateful.

Wiltshire Council are lending us litter-picking equipment and they will collect and dispose of the filled rubbish bags – there were 40 of them last time!! – but if you have your own tools then please bring them along.

And, when it’s all over, the social club have promised to provide you with a comfy chair to sit on while you chat about the day and they brew you a cup of tea or coffee.

See you on Saturday 21st October.

Best wishes,
Hazel Smith

Focus on Shrewton and District WI

Shrewton and District WI meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm in the Methodist Church Hall.  There is usually a guest speaker.  The WI is for women of all ages – come along to a meeting and discover our friendly and active group of women.

Our local WI also organise fundraising and the regular village clean-up.

Below are a couple of stories from 2016.
