We are a member of the national group of Women’s Institutes recently celebrating 75 years since our formation.
We have an increasing membership of women – currently at 45 members.
We meet at 19:30 on the second Wednesday of each month in the Shrewton Methodist Church.
Meetings usually include a speaker talking on a wide variety of subjects but we also organise and take a part in walks, courses, trips to places of interest, meals out, etc. etc.
We like to be involved in our local community (organising and participating in the annual village clean-up days as well as planting up and maintaining the floral tubs, etc.) as well as have an interest in the wider world. Last year we raised funds to buy a defibrillator for the village and this year our efforts are geared towards raising funds for the Salisbury Hospice.
