Shrewton has two free walking groups suitable for anyone who want to improve their fitness. These groups are very social so a good opportunity to improve or maintain fitness while making new friends on the many footpaths Shrewton has to offer.
Both walks are part of Wiltshire Councils, NHS funded Get Wiltshire Walking Health Project so once signed up walkers can choose the most appropriate walk for them and switch to the other group as their fitness changes.
The Main Walking Group – walks last between an hour and an hour and a quarter covering 3-4 miles, meets every Tuesday at 9.30am from the Social club car park. Walks often involve stiles.
The Stroller Group which is slower paced over 30-40 minutes on more gentle terrain and without stiles. Also starts at the Social Club car park at 9.30am Tuesdays.
Each group is led by qualified walk leaders.
Both walks end up at the Methodist church café. This provides a great social environment and excellent refreshments for the walkers!
