If you’ve ever thought, “I’d quite like some light summer reading…” then good news! The latest draft of the Shrewton Neighbourhood Plan has landed.
Now, before you panic… no, they are not expecting everyone to plough through over 120 pages of planning documents unless insomnia has become a hobby. Thankfully, the team have also produced a 4-page plain English summary that explains what it’s all about without requiring a degree in Planning Speak. π
Behind the scenes, an enormous amount of voluntary work has gone into producing these documents after government funding was withdrawn. It’s a huge effort by local people who have stubbornly refused to give up (clearly they’re made of stronger stuff than the rest of us!).
The draft plan currently works on the basis of 72 new homes, reflecting the current Local Plan position, whilst continuing to make the strongest possible case for protecting Shrewton’s environment, landscape and water quality.
π¬ The team genuinely want your comments – especially on the draft Neighbourhood Plan – by 15th September. Whether you agree, disagree, or simply have ideas to improve it, now’s the time to have your say.
π Start with the 4-page summary (recommended for normal humans!):

Planning documents might not be everyone’s idea of entertainment, but the decisions made now could shape Shrewton for decades to come… and that’s probably worth four pages of your time.
We’ve all complained about planning decisions at some point. This is your chance to do it before they’re made. π
